What should I wear for Panhellenic Primary Recruitment?
Recruitment can be stressful and you may not know what to expect from it. We understand this, and we are here to help alleviate that stress in anyway we can! Something as simple as knowing what to wear can help you feel confident and ready to put your best foot forward into recruitment week.
Day 1 | Open House/Sisterhood Round
During Open House/Sister Round of Recruitment, you will have the opportunity to get to know each of the sororities a little bit better and meet with members for the first time with your recruitment group. This round will help you learn more about each chapter—their values, history, signature events, and personality. Similarly, each chapter will have the opportunity to get to know more about you. Remember to take good notes—the week will be over before you know it!
What to wear: You will be quickly meeting members and touring the different sororities with your Rho Chi group so dress comfortably! You will be given a Panhellenic T-shirt to wear on this day.
Day 2 | Philanthropy
Congrats for making it to Day 2! You are now entering the invitation only rounds of recruitment, which is something to celebrate. This round gives you the opportunity to see the values of each sorority and how they serve the community. The parties during Philanthropy Round are informative and allow more time for conversations with the sorority women not only about their philanthropy, but what you both value in your own personal lives. Participation in this round will allow you to see firsthand the individuality and values of each chapter.
What to wear: During this round, we recommend that you wear a nicer dress and wedges or heels. Keep in mind the Florida heat and dress appropriately!
Day 3: Preference Round
On this day you can attend up to two Preference parties, each lasting 45 minutes. This is the day to really focus on what you want to gain out of joining a sorority. An invitation to a Preference event means that the sorority is very interested in you becoming a member. After participating in a ceremony, you will have the chance to talk privately with a member. During this time, the member may share with you how she made her decision, what her sorority means to her personally, and what sisterhood encompasses. After the last party, you will walk silently to complete your MRABA.
What to wear: Preference Day is the most formal round of recruitment! You should wear a nice dress and heels or nice wedges. You will not want to wear a dress that is too short or tight. An example would be something you may wear to a graduation ceremony or a daytime wedding.
Day 4: Bid Day
Recruitment week ends with Bid Day. Today, Potential New Members will open their bid card and finally be united with their new sorority sisters!
What to wear: For this day, wear something that you can easily put a shirt over, like a tank top or athletic shirt and shorts, jeans, or leggings. Each sorority has a unique bid day theme. You will receive a bid day shirt that fits this theme from your new sorority to wear to your bid day party, where you will celebrate finding your new home with your sisters!
